Frequently Asked Questions

What is lymphatic drainage massage good for?

Lymphatic drainage is a wonderful treatment for the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is the cleaning system of the body, and often in modern day society is neglected.

How do I do care for my lymphatic system at home?

There are various methods for homme-care of the lymphatic system, including dry brushing and exercising on a mini-trampoline.

What happens after a lymphatic drainage treatment with the BallancerPro?

During the treatment you are likely to experience a sense of relaxation and calm. Many report having a deep sleep that evening. In addition, you are likely to urinate more than usual, sometimes resulting in a water weight loss of 1-5 pounds. You may also experience a day or two of flu-like symptoms as your body is detoxing. This effect can be minimize with hydration and rest. At Body R-N-R we promote IV hydration with all lymphatic drainage treatments.

How often should I get a lymphatic drainage treatments?

To begin a lymphatic health program we recommend 3 x per week for the first week, then 2x week the second week, once a week for 4 weeks and then once/a month or as needed. For a weight loss program, daily or as many sessions in a week as possible to get to goal.

Can you lose weight with lymphatic drainage?

Yes. Initially you will lose water and toxic build up weight. Over time, with consistent treatments, your metabolism will be boosted. At Body R-N-R we do not have a weight loss program per se, but offer guidance with dietary choices and assistance with vitamins and nutrients with the use of IV drips and intramuscular injections.

How do you know if your lymphatic system is blocked?

The lymphatic system is a critical part of our circulatory system and immune system. It eliminates toxins, waste, and excess fluid as well as moving white blood cells around the body to fight infection. Unlike the circulatory system where the heart acts as the pump, the lymphatic system only moves one way— upward and away from gravity. A tough job in modern day society where we sit most of the day.  As the lymph system tries to move against gravity, it can become clogged. Too many toxins are a primary factor, while poor diet and overexposure to environmental toxins can overload the lymphatic system as well. In addition, lack of sleep, dehydration, stress, emotional trauma, infections, and lack of movement can stagnate and sometimes even stop the lymph flow. When the system becomes clogged, swelling (or lymphedema) usually occurs and if toxins can’t be eliminated from the body, cells can’t properly function resulting in dysfunction and disease within the body. If the lymphatic system is compromised, the immune system is compromised. Inflammation can occur and when chronic lymphatic congestion occurs, it can contribute to autoimmune conditions.

Signs this is happening include: skin conditions and rashes, feeling stiff or sore in the morning, swollen fingers or limbs, enlarged lymph nodes, allergies, constipation, digestive issues, depression and more.

Is lymphatic drainage massage painful?

No. Everyone loves the BallancerPro treatments finding them relaxing and soothing. In fact, the BallancerPro can be used therapeutically with children with autism or ADHD, as it calms the nervous system.
