IV Therapy

Why IV Therapy?

The body is made of 60% water, and all bodily functions rely on water.  Dehydrated bodies do not perform as well. IV solutions bypass the digestive system and more quickly and efficiently enter the blood stream where cells and tissues can more easily extract the nutrients needed.

IV therapy and BallancerPro treatments are part of the relax and restore process at Scottsdale Lymphatics & IVs. Lymphatic drainage is a huge part of what we do, combined with hydration, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, antioxidants, and other compounds to promote health, energy, performance, and boosted immunity.

Please read our blog about the BallancerPro here.

IV Therapy can help with weight loss, fighting infections, athletic recover, hangovers, and more.

All of our IVs are offered in a Myers' Cocktail base- ingredients are added to address specific issues. Learn more about this below.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is IV therapy worth the money?

This is a question to be answered by the individual. Is investing in your health of value? Absolutely. Many people engage in regular IV therapy treatments because of the benefits gained from the treatment.

What does IV therapy do for you?

IV therapy and intramuscular injection of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and more, can lead to better health, more energy, greater vitality, clearer skin, less pain, weight loss and more.

How fast does IV therapy work?

IV therapy begins to work within minutes with the results lasting 24 hours and longer. The advantage of some intramuscular injections is that the benefits often last longer. However, not all compounds can be given in the muscle. Some can only be given via veins.

How long will IV therapy last?

The benefits of IV therapy can last days, weeks and even months. More regular treatments will help improve deficient levels of nutrients resulting in longer lasting results. As with anything, consistency is the key.

How often should I get IV therapy?

Initally, weekly treatments are best to more quickly correct nutrient deficiencies. Then transition to a maintenance program of monthly infusions, or as you feel you the need for a boost. Your body will guide you.

How do you feel after IV therapy?

Initially you may feel a little tired, particulary if your body is clearing toxins. After this period, you should feel an improvement in energy and vitality. However, it may take several sessions to feel the full benefits.

What are some disadvanatages of IV therapy?

IV therapy is generally very safe. There can be minor trauma at the insertion site of the IV resulting in bruising or temporary swelling. If you experience any discomfort, let you nurse know.

On the thumb side of the wrist runs a superficial nerve called the radial nerve. This nerve can be injured when IVs are started in this area. If at all possible, avoid having IVs placed here.

A condition called phlebitis, or inflammation to the walls of the vein, can happen with stronger IV infusions such as high dose Vitamin C, NAD, and some other nutrients. If you notice any irritation to your vein after your treatment, let your nurse know. A highly effective treatment for this is castor oil compresses and heat to the area.

Although extremely rare, some people can have allergic reactions to some of the ingredients in the drips. For example, those with sulfa allergies may react to glutathione. High dose vitamin C treatments requires checking a G6PD level, an enzyme deficency in some individuals.

Vitamin D should only be given when there is a known deficiency.

A knowledgable provider can help you make informed decisions, and tailor treatments to your needs.
